The idea of the trip is to cover the Sights of Ireland and Scotland by day, and the Music of Ireland and Scotland by night . Essentially the trip is a comprehensive, high quality sightseeing tour of Ireland and Scotland, with nightly excursions to hear the best of Irish & Scottish music. Both countries have wonderful scenery and music, fascinating histories, and friendly people. A highlight of Scotland is a visit to the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The Ireland tour has many musical highlights, including a day at the Ulster American Folk Park's excellent annual Appalachian & Bluegrass Festival . Cost of the tour in 2007 was A$9,350.00** (Australian dollars) per person, twin share, including airfares, accommodation, touring, admission to attractions, and a large number of meals, including breakfast every day of the tour and seven evening meals. This is good value considering the quality of the daily sightseeing tours, plus the nightly music excursions. Accommodation is in excellent, centrally located hotels.
