The Music Tour of New Zealand is scheduled for Monday February 11th to Thursday February 28th 2008. If you are interested in the New Zealand tour, please contact us. This will be our 3rd tour of NZ, following very successful tours in 2003 & 2005.

The idea of the tour is to cover the Sights of New Zealand by day, & the Music of New Zealand by night . The trip is a comprehensive, high quality sightseeing tour of New Zealand, with musical events (concerts, etc.) most evenings. The tour spends 8 days on the North Island & 10 days on the South Island .

New Zealand offers some of the most beautiful and varied wilderness, rural and coastal scenery in the world, including spectacular snow-capped mountains, fiords, glaciers, and the unique thermal wonders of the Rotorua area (soaring geysers, boiling mudpools, etc.). The tour has been designed to take in as many of New Zealand's outstanding sightseeing attractions as possible.

The tour features many musical highlights, including a special concert by legendary New Zealand act,   the Hamilton County Bluegrass Band . This wonderful group started out in the late 1960s and was very successful and influential before disbanding in the mid-70s. The band toured Australia in the early 70s and appeared on the Grand Ole Opry in America. In recent years the band has started performing again. Other musical highlights include: 3 Maori Cultural Shows, including the excellent Culture North show in Paihia (Bay of Islands) and the superb Tamaki Hangi & Show in Rotorua; Scottish Night (dinner & live music) in Dunedin; Country Music Concert in Queenstown; and Memories (Scottish flavoured Jimmy Shand type orchestra) in Te Anau.

Cost of the Music Tour of New Zealand is A$4,535 (Australian dollars) per person, twin share, including airfares (ex Melbourne), accommodation, touring, admission to attractions, and a large number of meals, including breakfast every day of the tour and 10 evening meals. This is good value considering the quality of the daily sightseeing tours, plus the special concerts and music excursions under John Howie's leadership. Accommodation is in excellent, centrally located hotels.

If you wish to go on the tour you can book by sending the completed booking form to Travelrite's Heathmont office, along with A$500.00 deposit per person. If you have any queries please contact Travelrite on Ph: (03) 9729 8722, or Toll Free on 1800 033 436 . The fax number is (03) 9729 0682
