Cont'd. from home page... This year’s 16 day tour of Ireland is a very comprehensive one. The tour goes right around Ireland (including Northern Ireland), starting and finishing in Dublin. For the first time since 1995 we will be travelling through the lovely Wicklow Mountains and staying in Wexford (far south-east corner of Ireland). We are travelling from Cork to Killarney via a beautiful coastal route that takes in Kinsale, Skibbereen, Bantry Bay and Kenmare (Kinsale & Kenmare are two of the prettiest towns in Ireland).
We visit Tipperary and Athenry - both towns made famous by songs. We attend an Irish Cabaret show in Dublin featuring the great Irish comedian Noel V. Ginnity (he’s been a feature of all past tours except maybe the first one). We will attend the outstanding Appalachian and Bluegrass Music Festival in Omagh. This event, which features some of the world’s best bluegrass bands, has been a highlight of several recent tours.
We also visit these stunning locations:
-
- Dublin
- Wexford
- Cork
- Belfast
-
- Galway
- Killarney
- Westport
-
- Donegal
- Londonderry
- Omagh
- Edinburgh

All in all, this year’s Ireland tour will be a beauty!
For those who choose to go on the Scotland Extension Tour, (before main tour) we have tickets organised for the late Edinburgh Tattoo performance on Saturday August 21st. The late Saturday performance concludes with a spectacular fireworks display. For those who go on the London Extension Tour, we should be able to visit Buckingham Palace (Buckingham Palace is usually open to the public at this time of the year).
The Music Tour of Ireland will take place from August 22nd to September 9th 2010 with optional three day extension to Edinburgh from August 19th to August 23rd including the Edinburgh Tattoo.
Note: A further optional extension tour to London (after main tour) is available from September 7th to September11th. Itinerary
This is our 15th Music Tour of Ireland, following highly successful tours annually since 1995, and our 9th Music Tour of Edinburgh, following very successful tours annually since 2000.
The idea of the trip is to cover the Sights of Ireland and Edinburgh by day, and the Music of Ireland and Scotland by night . Essentially the trip is a comprehensive, high quality sightseeing tour of Ireland and Scotland, with excursions to hear the best of Irish & Scottish music.
The countries have wonderful scenery and music, fascinating histories, and friendly people. A highlight of Scotland is a visit to the famous Edinburgh Military Tattoo. The Ireland tour has many musical highlights, including a day at the Ulster American Folk Park's excellent annual Appalachian & Bluegrass Festival .
